In the world of the clarinet, Alessandro Carbonare is a name that needs little introduction. First clarinet of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and legendary collaborator of Claudio Abbado, the celebrated Italian virtuoso stands today among the leading figures of the clarinet world. When Carbonare and his clarinet trio appeared in Cyprus five years ago, they delivered such an astounding performance that audiences kept asking when they would return. That moment arrives this season, as the extraordinary Alessandro Carbonare Clarinet Trio returns to Cyprus for another thrilling concert.
Created in 2016, the Alessandro Carbonare Clarinet Trio has already established a unique legacy for the future of music. Alongside clarinettists Luca Cipriano and Giuseppe Muscogiuri, Carbonare delves into the rare and fascinating repertoire for three clarinets / basset horns, exploring a programme that defies classical boundaries, seamlessly pivoting from the elegance of Mozart’s Divertimenti to the rhythmic fire of Chick Corea, the sophisticated Brazilian swing of Nazareth and Gismonti, and the soulful energy of Klezmer music. One clarinet can enchant an audience. Three clarinets can transform a concert into an unparalleled musical experience.
The Pharos Arts Foundation welcomes back the impressive Alessandro Carbonare Clarinet Trio on Friday 17 April 2026, at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia / 8:30pm. The concert is organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy.
