An Iconic Opera Under the Stars
Moreover, this year’s stage belongs to the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Tbilisi (Georgia), returning for a second consecutive appearance. Their collaboration with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra promises an electrifying rendition of Georges Bizet’s legendary Carmen—a work adored for its lush melodies, dramatic plot, and the unforgettable character of Carmen herself. The libretto, crafted by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy and inspired by Prosper Mérimée’s novella, has enchanted audiences since its 1875 Paris premiere and continues to stir passion in opera lovers worldwide.
