Business trips to Athens have been frequent recently, and ostensibly so, my excitement during the trips have been hyped by the pleasant discoveries of both wonderful places and people that one comes across during these likeable trips. Athens is a place where you learn about culture, history, Greek traditions, progressive norms and lifestyle vibes, and delightfully, get closely familiarized with their culinary scene. A big plus!

Among the many enjoyable I frequented, one place stood out was Feedel Urban Gastronomy which offers Mediterannean modern Greek cuisine carefully crafted by the Chef Christos Glossitis himself. The rustic ambiance of the small outdoor garden, the dark wooden interior, consistently blend with the urban chic Athens vibe with warming comfort, creating an inviting atmosphere that sets the resonance for a memorable dining experience.

During visits with friends and colleagues… more than once 😉 I tried a variety of dishes that reflected the restaurant’s innovative approach on Mediterranean fusion cuisine. Together with my colleague we began with two appetizers: the incredibly refreshing cherry tomatoes accompanied by local tsalafouti cheese, white balsamic and small traditional Thessaloniki bread pieces along with a beautifully plated kale salad with caramelised pecans and raspberry vinegar dressing.

Along with our starters we could not have missed out on the two must-haves of the restaurant; the sourdough bread with bergamot-flavoured olive oil and the appetizing avocado tzatziki, offering a fresh flavourful twist of the traditional side dish we all know and love. We continued our dinner with the succulent lemon chicken complemented by a crispy potato pave and an incredibly rich pistachio mustard sauce. Our last main dish could not have been other than the highly recommended Iberico pork neck, plated in the finest way, and melted into our mouth assuring us that this dish is a testament to culinary creativity.

Each dish was very thoughtfully crafted, reflecting a deep respect for Greek culinary traditions while embracing modern techniques and presentations. However, the highlights of the experience at Feedel were not only the exquisite dishes of the chef, but also the staff, genuinely passionate and attentive that played a pivotal role in making the visit memorable. Their thoughtful recommendations and small, heartfelt gestures added a personal touches that felt authentic and meaningful.

So, for those planning a forthcoming visit to Athens, Feedel Urban Gastronomy is the must-visit culinary destination. Its innovative menu, warm atmosphere, and attentive service, all combine to offer a dining experience that is both unique and authentically Greek. What more can one ask?
