Kolonaki, the chic heart of Athens, where the elegance of neoclassical architecture of yesteryears effortlessly blends with the vibrancy of modern city life. Where the streets are lined with stylish boutiques, inviting cafes, charming people, and fascinating art galleries. And that is where μe Me Kolonaki is located, ready to welcome the daily passersby with its warm ambience, rich and aromatic coffee, and a menu that offers a decent meal for any time of the day.
So, our Saturday morning began with the welcoming hosts of μe Me Kolonaki offering cucumber-infused water and assuring us that dining would be more than just a meal, but a pleasant experience that would fuse into the lively Athenian atmosphere and be perfect for a leisurely breakfast.
We started with an egg-white omelet, a colorful dish filled with fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables. The dish was light and flavorful, a true indication to the cafe’s commitment to quality, freshness, and zest.
Next came the scrambled eggs, a rich golden color and creamy texture, topped with freshly cured smoked salmon. Each bite was a blend of butter and subtle spices, transforming a simple dish into something extraordinary.
The star of our breakfast, however, was the mushroom salad called manitarada. This inventive salad of shimeji mushrooms with finely chopped cauliflower and broccoli, perfectly pairing with couscous, combined with fresh pine nuts was truly unforgettable. The zesty lemon vinaigrette added a refreshing burst of flavor that made every bite delicious.
A wonderful fresh take on breakfast, brunch and light supper – this new place, on a quiet side street just off Kolonaki Square (still sadly a dusty building site) is simply brilliant. The flavours are awesome, the surroundings stylish and the service friendly and helpful.
