Cypriot fashion and textile designer Michalis Pantelidis is taking his talent to Southeast Asia! His brand, Michalis Pantelidis Studio, has been invited as a Featured International Designer to present at BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 in Jakarta on August 2 at JICC Senayan.

Bringing Cypriot Heritage to the World Stage
Through his collection, Cypriot Silk Stories, Michalis brings contemporary Cypriot heritage to an international stage. The collection features silk scarves that blend original photography, archaeology, and digital design. A key highlight includes pieces inspired by ancient artifacts from the Pierides Museum, Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, reinterpreting historical objects into wearable art.
Ancient Artifacts Meet Marine-Inspired Design
Another standout section is Ocean of Threads, inspired by underwater photography from the sea of Larnaka, where marine life transforms into abstract silk patterns. The artwork came to life in stunning fashion when @polli_cannabis wore the Biogenic Reef caftan during the filming of her upcoming movie! Our Cyprus Pulse style mavens have to say the palettes are remarkably vibrant, these pieces function as sculpted textiles designed for continuous mobility, where mid-century leisure aesthetics shape contemporary luxury through dynamic abstract patternwork.

The presentation also highlights creative collaborations, such as Embroidered Dialogues, a special scarf created with the Romanian Embassy in Cyprus celebrating cross-cultural textiles. The initiative is supported by the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus and the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Indonesia.
Wearable Art Designed for Contemporary Travel
This showcase is a fantastic way to promote the Cypriot fashion identity and national folklore to the new generation. It encourages creative thinking and shows young people why they should consider the garment, textile, and fashion industry as a vibrant career choice. Michalis’ work feels so neaniko and zoiro, making his brand truly conversant with modern design, as seen in his latest posts.

We encourage all our readers to follow Michalis and his creative escapades on his Instagram account @michalispantelidistudio.
